National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System [NPDES] and Sewer Discharge
The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System [NPDES] is a federal program (generally administered by individual states) that controls water discharge pollution. This program regulates point sources that discharge pollutants into U.S. waters. Groundwater, construction groundwater, surface water and other effluent sources are discharged to storm drain systems under this program.
Pure Effect Environmental provides a turnkey treatment package that complies with the requirements of the NPDES program.
Many areas allow the discharge of construction groundwater into sewer systems. However, some municipalities/agencies do not allow groundwater discharge to the sewer.
Pure Effect Environmental can assist you in evaluating discharge options, and provide the appropriate solution to discharge/effluent challenges. Our NPDES and Sewer Discharge services include:
- Evaluation of the wastewater/effluent stream
- Design and engineer the needed treatment system
- Prepare and submit the permit application
- Obtain the permit
- Install the appropriate treatment system (rental or sale)
- Manage the Monitoring and Reporting Program
- Provide all sampling, analysis, and reporting
We provide service in Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Diego County and all of Southern California.
Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan [SWPPP]

A Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) is a formal permit process that addresses rain and storm water (surface water) discharges from these sites. This process is now required for most construction sites. Pure Effect Environmental can assist in evaluating various sites and writing the SWPPP for your projects. We can help you with the requirements for treating rain/storm water discharges and ensure that your sites meet the requirements of this program. Pure Effect Environmental can also assist you with the monitoring and reporting requirements of the SWPPP permit program.
