Celebrate Earth Day in 2021

Did you know first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970, and was a collaboration between government and citizens? Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson proposed Earth Day in 1969, and events were organized nationally by a handful of young activists and local volunteers. By the end of the year 1970, the Nixon administration had established the Environmental Protection Agency and passed the Clean Air Act.
