International Dark Sky Week 2021

International Dark Sky Week 2021

International Dark Sky Week - April 5th - April 12th

Light pollution has far reaching consequences that are harmful to all living things on the earth. By using effective outdoor lighting such as LPS, HPS and low-color-temperature LEDs it can help reduce the negative impacts that poorly placed or unshielded outdoor lighting can have on wildlife, our health, and enjoyment of the nighttime sky. When used indiscriminately, outdoor lighting can disrupt wildlife, impact human health, waste money, and energy, contribute to climate change, and block our view of the universe.

Any artificial light that is not needed is a pollutant that has serious and harmful consequences.

Light pollution can:

  • Disrupt Wildlife
  • Impact Human Health
  • Waste Money
  • Waste Energy
  • Contribute Negatively To Climate Change
  • Block Our View Of The Universe

Light pollution is increasing at 2x rate of population growth, and an estimated 83% of the global population lives under a light-polluted sky.
